This webpage is about how Hollywood affects the youth of today. Hollywood seems so vibrant, glamorous and fun. Teenagers are often influenced by an unrealistic world with which they have so much interaction. Magazines, music, T.V and movies are the four main elements that influence teens.The morals and values of teens are changed directly through Hollywood. The concluding theories are; Is that teens follow Hollywood because they are afraid of being an outcast. Humankind has a great fear of being alone. This is because we have evolved to be social creatures. The other theory is we are in a constant pusuit of beauty and perfection so we are considered high in the social hierachy because we want acceptance. Hollywood will continue to manipulate teens as long as the human race is imperfect and insecure.

The Real Facts
|
From the 60 teenage girls we interviewed (aged between 13 and 16) we can tell you that; 10% of the girls are happy with their bodies, 45% were slightly dissatisfied, 40% were quite unhappy and 5% were fed up, miserable and frustrated. All of the surveyed participants said they prefer the body of another person. 80% of them wanted bodies like Hollywood celebrities. 70% of the interviewees said they had dieted at some time in their lives, 15% of the 70% also admitted to either bingeing and vomiting or starving themselves for some period of time.

How and Where We Collected Information
|
|
Our information was collected from four main sources. They were television, magazines, discussions and our survey. Television shows such as TV Hits gave us information about stereotypes. Magazines gaves us information about what teenagers do to be like Hollywood celebrities, the discussion with project group members, friends, Miss Smith and Miss Sambell gave us ideas about the theories on why people follow Hollywood and the answers on the survey helped us to determine what certain parts of Hollywood affect them.
